[For some reason he hadn't been prepared for how busy the port would be. Following the water he eventually ends up at the train station, pushed along by streams of people too busy to even notice someone so obviously out of place. He makes his way up the stairs to one of the platforms, then parks himself on a bench while he looks at the coming and going of the great yellow and blue machines. He's in awe of how quick they are, how many people fit in them, and how everyone just seems to think this is all normal. He doesn't even notice the growing cold until his lungs start to itch and he heads into the city with his list.
He walks along the water, because he figures that way it'll be easier to find his way back to the Barge. He passes a small marketplace on the Waag and ticks off one measly item on his list. When he sees a stall that sells medicinal tea he can't help but buy a small package, thinking that he owes it to everyone back home to at least try and get better. When he peeks around the corner from the market he sees a Buddhist temple. Even though it's not quite what he's used to, the familiar sight comforts him and lifts his spirits.
Of course, he then proceeds to get royally lost, passing 't Spui, then finding his way back along the Herengracht and the Negen Straatjes.]

[When he gets back at the end of the day he's exhausted, his lungs are burning and his ribs are killing him. His voice is rough, but his eyes are bright and he's beaming.]
This is pretty exciting, huh? Though, to be honest, I could probably use some help with this list! At this rate I won't be ready until the end of winter...
Oh! Since some others have offered-- does anyone need a warden in order to get into the city? I might be able to help.
